    Position summary

    le the data, perform the analysis and generate insights, and present actionable information back to the business.

    • Provide actionable insights to support business decisions, primarily by performing root cause, exploratory, sensitivity and scenario analysis, hypothesis testing, economic modeling, regression, and data visualization to identify patterns/trends/insights etc. on predefined problems

    • Merge, cleanse and transform data from multiple sources as needed for analysis.

    • Understand and apply basic statistical concepts.

    • Apply critical thinking to pressure test and validate logic and outputs against known sources and understanding of business.

    • Generate and incorporate insights into a cohesive story that clearly addresses business questions in partnership with others. Effectively communicate tailored messages to the business partners regarding analytic ideas, approach, key takeaways and actionable insights.

    • Maintain a working knowledge of firm results & key business drivers and an understanding of key strategies & priorities of business to be able to apply business knowledge to analytic approach to address business questions.

    • Build and maintain a working knowledge of data flows and data sources within relational databases.

    • Develop and manage business relationships and partnerships with targeted business owners and within the department.

    • Consult with business owners to understand the business problem. Collaborate with others to identify the appropriate analytic approach to solve the problem.

    • Document, monitor, and proactively recommend improvements to processes and controls related to areas of responsibility.

    Skills/Requirements

    • 1+ year work experience

    • Bachelor's Degree required with an emphasis in finance, business, economics, statistics, data science, math or analytics preferred. Relevant work experience will be considered.

    • Experience interacting with database and file storage systems (Oracle, Hadoop, Snowflake, Databricks).

    • Experience with data manipulation languages and analysis language (SQL, Python, R).

    • Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI or similar tool)

    • Experience analyzing data and creating data driven business insights.

    • Some knowledge of statistical concepts and analytic techniques, including descriptive statistics, forecasting, economic modeling, various regression techniques, exploratory analysis, and variance analysis required

    Candidates that live within in a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week, with preference for Tuesday through Thursday.
