The HQ Network Engineering and Operations team ensures the availability and high performance of the Edward Jones headquarters network. This includes operating and maintaining existing solutions, engineering new solutions, and lifecycle management (HW/SW currency). The team works closely with Campus, WAN and Security network teams, as well as other Infrastructure, Platform, Application, and Architecture teams. Specific technology responsibilities include the data center network, DNS platform, application load balancing platforms, and native / non-native cloud solutions. Broader knowledge of WAN technologies, firewalls, etc., is also relevant to this role. We are seeking an exceptionally talented technology and people leader who will collaborate and innovate with others to deliver new solutions that support the firm's transformational goals.
Plan and manage the activities of the HQ Network team, responsible for network availability and performance, operational support, maintaining existing solutions, and engineering new solutions
Lead team during network / technology incidents to ensure necessary resources are brought to bear and incidents are resolved in a timely manner
Identify opportunities and leverage tools, automation, and process improvements, to improve delivery of services, reduce outages and MTTR, etc.
Drive and develop strategic direction for HQ network technologies, in alignment with the broader needs of the firm
Lead team through annual financial planning activities and ensure personnel and financial needs are well defined for the coming year, enabling the team to meet / deliver:
Financial obligations to external service providers
Network currency, capacity, and enhancement efforts
Technology projects
Lead team through trimester and Agile planning cycles to ensure priorities are identified and team is delivering the right results in a timely manner
Develop and present project recommendations, and gain necessary approvals for small to large and complex efforts
Implement and operationalize approved solutions according to the needs of the firm
Lead, mentor and develop associates, while maintaining a strong team culture that values the contributions of each individual
Develop successors for key positions within the team
Establish, maintain, and leverage relationships within and across departments, with various levels of leadership, and with various third parties / vendors
Ensure prudent use of the firm's financial resources and hold external service providers accountable for service delivery and costs

Skills/Requirements
Bachelor's degree (Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Telecommunications, etc.) or equivalent work experience in Information Systems
Minimum of 5 years' experience in telecommunications and networking technologies (routing, switching, campus wireless deployments, application load balancing, DNS, cloud solutions, etc.). This includes at least 3-years in a leadership role
Experience with Cloud network solutions
Experience with automation solutions and process mapping
Experience with Agile methodologies
Functional knowledge of processes, systems, and technologies used to support large enterprises
Ability to recognize and assess operational and strategic opportunities, and provide solutions and recommendations in line with firm's strategic objectives
Ability to develop efforts and projects with the appropriate business justification
Ability to lead team and collaborate with others in the execution of efforts and projects
Ability to appropriately react to availability issues with appropriate urgency, and lead team through assessment, mitigation, resolution, and closure activities
Ability to identify and hire top talent, develop individual team members, and build / maintain a strong and inclusive team environment
Ability to provide direction and leadership, and lead / influence others directly and indirectly
Ability to effectively communicate with associates, business partners, vendors, and multiple levels of leadership
Ability to effectively manage escalations within area of responsibility and work in concert with related support and project teams
Must be process oriented; skilled in establishing and executing plans; able to establish metrics and monitor progress
Must have excellent interpersonal skills; ability to develop relationships; seen as credible and trustworthy
Ability to manage and develop self while internalizing leadership feedback
