Job Role
Provide premium zOS system programming support and services to Ensono mainframe clients. The successful candidate will perform mainframe zOS operating System upgrades (V2.5 and V3.1) using SMPE and zOSMF workflows, ISV product upgrades/maintenance apply for zOS compatibility to support our customers' mainframe environments and ensure contractual obligations are met. The individual will need to work with vendor personnel to achieve timely upgrades of zOS, ISV products before end of support.

This position is a full-time, entry level job role. We prefer candidates be located within Bangalore or Chennai or Pune.
Job Responsibilities
Perform standard system programming activities like configuration, installation & maintenance using SMP/E, and vendor software installations in the mainframe environment.
Support other team: storage management, performance tuning, capacity planning, security, networking, and operating procedures from zOS perspective.
Work with Mainframe System Programmers staff across tracks to enhance the mainframe environment.
Participate in software(ISVs and zOS) deployments and various support functions as defined by the department manager.
Possess interpersonal skills needed to foster good relations with business and development users.
Assist team members to solve problems, make innovative improvements and make decisions.
Identify and implement system and process improvements in the zOS environment Work with application support teams and other internal customers to facilitate business initiatives.
Review and Approve documentation of system software products including usage instructions, configuration notes, test plans, details of customizations necessary for our environment, as well as process and procedure guide
Experience level
12+ years of professional work experience as a Mainframe System Programmer in zOS & ISVs.
Bachelor's degree required and/or equivalent work experience.
Mainframe Certifications / Badges is an added advantage
Technical key skills (Mandatory skills)
Expertise in performing SMP/E and Non-SMPE Installation of ISV products)
Operating system z/OS upgrades workflow execution.
JES3/JES2 initialization
Sysplex and config management (good to have)
Fluent in JCL and IBM Utilities (IEBGENER/IEBCOPY/AMASPZAP/DFDSS)
ISPF/TSO and other basic
Basic knowledge of REXX/CLIST
Designing project plan(upgrades, maintenance, decom) with task list for all stakeholders and communicating the timelines with delivery and customer.
Formulate roadmaps with all pre-requisites to achieve a project completion.
Technically guide a team of highly motivated system programmers with technical working sessions.
Good to have skills
Possess the drive and self-motivation to sharpen current skills while also learning something new
Intermediate proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Word) or MAC equivalent products
Possess a conceptual or practical understanding of or have a willingness to learn various technologies including but not limited to Mainframe, Open Systems, Networking, etc.
Ability to present ideas in a clear and concise manner - sharp communication skills both verbal and written
