About the role and what you will be doing:
As a system engineer, you will play a crucial role in our Hybrid Cloud POD**,** supporting mission-critical infrastructure for Ensono's clients. Your expertise will be instrumental in resolving complex technical client incidents and problems, delivering a responsive and remarkable service that our clients rely on.
This role is ideal for someone with a solid grounding in Windows systems who is enthusiastic to expand their skills in a collaborative environment. Experience with Linux and AWS would be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical support for Ensono client environments, resolving incidents and service requests escalated.
Perform problem management, helping to identify and tackle critical and recurring issues.
Support the change management process, including drafting and implementing changes under guidance.
Perform administration and troubleshooting of Windows Server environments.
Gain experience with virtualisation technologies (VMware, AWS, and Azure).
Participate in Disaster Recovery exercises alongside senior engineers.
Support post-incident reviews and root cause analysis for client reporting
Collaborate with vendors and internal teams, escalating issues when required.
Continue developing technical expertise through training, mentorship, and exposure to clients.
Participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota, if required.
Knowledge & Skills
Possess a strong understanding of Windows server administration and troubleshooting.
Experience in Linux server administration and troubleshooting.
Experience with AWS environments.
Additional preferred knowledge: Azure, VMware, networking, and storage area networks.
Knowledge of ITIL and its function within IT.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Analytical mindset with a willingness to learn and grow.
Experience
1-2 years of experience in a systems engineer role (Windows/Linux/AWS).
Experience working within a managed services environment is advantageous.
Knowledge of working in an ITIL environment.
Certifications
Engineering certification in Microsoft, Red Hat, AWS, or Azure is desirable.
ITIL Foundation.
