In this role, you will combine technical AWS knowledge with strong analytical thinking to identify cost optimization opportunities while maintaining performance, scalability, and reliability. You will work closely with engineering, DevOps, and application teams to influence design and operational decisions, helping build sustainable cloud cost practices over time. You will report to the Director of DevOps.
Responsibilities
Analyze AWS usage and cost data across applications and environments to understand spend drivers and trends
Identify and implement cost optimization opportunities such as rightsizing, scheduling, storage optimization, and removing unused resources
Partner with application teams, architects, and engineers to recommend cost‑efficient architecture and operational improvements
Review application infrastructure and cloud designs to ensure AWS services are used effectively and responsibly
Create dashboards, reports, and KPIs that provide clear visibility into cloud spend, savings, and anomalies
Promote and support FinOps best practices, including governance, tagging standards, forecasting, and ongoing cost accountability
Qualifications
4+ years of hands‑on experience working with AWS services in a DevOps, cloud engineering, or architecture‑focused role
Solid understanding of AWS cost drivers, including services such as EC2, RDS, S3, EKS/ECS, Lambda, networking, and data platforms
Experience analyzing cloud usage data and turning insights into actionable cost optimization recommendations
Knowledge of modern application architectures, including containers, microservices, and cloud‑native deployment patterns
Familiarity with AWS cost management tools such as Cost Explorer, budgets, and reporting or analytics dashboards
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain both technical and financial concepts to diverse audiences
