    Job description

    The ESS Analytics team is accelerating Experian's impact by bringing together data, tech, and data science and build game-changing products and services for our customers. We are looking for Senior Staff Engineer to help develop new initiatives and products to serve the needs of Experian's clients, including those in the financial services.

    Our team is solving key questions, like - How can we increase the rigor and scalability of our loan originations modeling approach? How can we tackle important issues in the lending space today like bias, fairness and explainable AI?

    Role accountabilities and key activities

    Takes on a leading role within the development teams and tackling complex assignments. Provides substantial technical expertise in end-to-end development cycle and solves complex problems. Provides coaching and guidance to junior team members. Executes on technical and business strategies and ensures functional goals are met. Supports products at a holistic level, understanding how all the various pieces fit together.

    You will:

    • Support complex software development projects by playing a critical role in planning, systems design and mentoring junior developers.

    • Innovate and architect solutions for intricate technical problems or system improvements.

    • Defining and executing the technical strategy for product development, including technology selection and innovation initiatives.

    • Design and build full stack components of our analytics product platforms on AWS.

    • Dive deeply into the platform, infrastructure, and applications to solve problems effeciently

    • Collaborate with geographically distributed cross-functional teams to expand the value of Analytics offerings.

    • Enhance the product to reduce the overall cost footprint while maximizing scalability and stability.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

    • High-level knowledge of data engineering, analytics, and ML, with the ability to dive deep when necessary.

    • Experience building or supporting internal data engineering, analytics and MLOpsplatforms.

    • Experience with distributed data processing frameworks like Spark

    • Experience with any of the public cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, GCP, preferably AWS, including infrastructure as code (Terraform, Helm).

    • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tools.

    • Strong hands-on experience with Scala, Java & Python

    Qualifications

    • 10+ years of experience with object-oriented programming and asynchronous programming

    • High-level knowledge of data engineering, analytics, and ML, with the ability to dive deep when necessary.

    • Experience building or supporting internal data engineering, analytics and MLOps platforms.

    • Experience with distributed data processing frameworks like Spark

    • Experience with any of the public cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, GCP, preferably AWS, including infrastructure as code (Terraform, Helm).

    • Strong hands-on experience with Scala, Java & Python
