The Capital Markets Internal Audit Principal role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:
Audit Leadership
Develop and execute a risk-based audit plan for treasury and capital markets activities, including pricing, hedging, structured transactions, credit risk transfers, interest rate risk management, liquidity risk management, and related activities.
Oversee planning, fieldwork, and reporting for audits, ensuring adherence to professional standards and internal policies.
Act as the Subject Matter Expert for the department for Market Risk.
Risk and Control Assessment
Conduct continuous risk monitoring and maintain an up-to-date risk profile for the Treasury and Capital Markets division.
Identify emerging risks and recommend proactive control enhancements.
Ensure a solid understanding of the key controls in place to prevent or detect unauthorized trading.
Develop an audit approach to review front, middle, and back-office controls, including valuation, settlement, and risk limit framework development and monitoring.
Stakeholder Engagement
Build and maintain strong relationships with senior business leaders, regulators, and external auditors.
Communicate audit findings and recommendations clearly and effectively to executive management.
Team Development
Mentor and coach a team of audit professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Provide coaching and career development opportunities to team members.
Regulatory and Industry Expertise
Stay current on regulatory developments (SEC, FINRA, CFTC, FHFA, etc.) and industry best practices impacting treasury and capital markets.
Ensure audit methodologies align with IIA Standards and applicable regulatory guidance.
THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM
Minimum Required Experiences
8 years of experience in internal audit or risk management within financial services, with significant exposure to complex capital markets activities (i.e. investment banking).
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
Advanced degree or professional certification (CPA, CIA, CFA).
Deep understanding of trading products, market risk, credit risk, and operational risk in capital markets and treasury activities.
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to influence senior management and drive change across complex organizations.
Prior experience leading audit planning, execution, and reporting.
Desired Experiences
Knowledge and exposure to MBS, CMBS, and Whole Loan Mortgage transactions.
Understanding of typical interest rate risk hedging strategies and related risk implications and measures.
Experience with audit analytics and data-driven risk assessment.
Familiarity with global regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements.
Strategic mindset with ability to balance detail orientation and big-picture thinking.

The hiring range for this role is set forth below. Final salaries will generally vary within that range based on factors that include but are not limited to, skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and other relevant qualifications.
