    • Support Fannie Mae mission to make homeownership accessible and sustainable for all Americans.

    • Applying advanced skill, knowledge and experience, design and develop software solutions to meet customer needs in support of the Desktop Underwriter platform.

    • Help organization adopt emerging technologies and innovations.

    • Help organization strengthening readiness and operability while staying ahead of risk.

    Qualifications

    THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

    Required Experience

    • Software Development:

      • At least 4years of extensive hands-on experience in Java development, including designing, implementing, and maintaining Java enterprise applications.

      • Proficiency in multiple programming languages such as Python, C#, SQL, JavaScript, or Angular

      • Experience managing and resolving cyber vulnerabilities

      • Experience with Application Performance Management and Observability

      • Proficiency in using debugging tools and optimizing application performance.

      • Experience in conducting code reviews and ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices

      • Deep understanding of the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance

    • AWS Cloud Technologies:

      • Strong skills in system design and architecture, ensuring scalable and resilient solutions

      • At least 4 years in software engineering using AWS cloud infrastructure writing applications with AWS service APIs, AWS CLI, using SDKs and using containers

    • Leadership Skills:

      • Proven experience in leading and managing development teams, including task assignment and progress monitoring.

      • Experience building effective relationships with technical and business stakeholders.

      • Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders

      • Experience mentoring and coaching junior engineers

    • Application Operations and Support:

      • Experience with application production / operations support, including incident response, problem management, runbooks, and knowledge articles

    Desired Experience

    • Bachelor's or Masters' degree in computer science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Systems Engineering, or related field

    • 8 years of extensive hands-on experience in Java development, including designing, implementing, and maintaining Java enterprise applications.

    • Certification in AWS Solutions Architect

    • Certification in AWS Developer

    • Certification in AWS Security Specialist

    • Sun Certified Java Developer

    • Experienced in application monitoring / observability, including building dashboards, establishing service level indicators / objectives / agreements (SLIs / SLOs / SLAs), and logging / tracing

    • CICD and DevOps experience building and managing pipelines

    Experience in Technical Resiliency strategies and infrastructure design

    Skills

    • Highly skilled inprogramming in Java and Python with a deep understanding J2EE frameworks, such as Springboot / Spring Cloud, and REST

    • Skilled in AWS cloud applications and technologies, including containerization, virtualization, microservices, and server-less architecture in tools

    • Excellent problem-solving skills and proactivity in resolving issues / blockers

    • Excellent verbal / written communication skills, relationship management skills, and ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders

    • Skilled inunit, integration, functional, and performance testing strategies and tools

    • Skilled in Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and Agile methodology

    • Understanding of fault tolerant / resilience architectural design patterns, such as Circuit-breaker, Retry, and Timeout configurations.

    • Ability to create automation solutions using tools such as Selenium

    • AWS (ECS, EC2, RDS, Dynamo, Glue, Kinesis, EMR, Lambda, Route 53)

    • Programming using Python/Java

    • DevOps - Infrastructure as Code, CICD - Jenkins, GitLab, Terraform

    • Application monitoring and instrumentation Open Telemetry, Dynatrace, LoadRunner

    • Jira

    • Confluence

    • Splunk

    • Sonarqube
