As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you are responsible and accountable for a wide range of supplier quality related activities such as Supplier Approval and Qualification, manage surveillance and inspections as per ITPL, review and approve End of Manufacturing Reports (EoMRs), trigger and lead problem solving missions, lead/conduct incoming goods inspections, warehouse QA audits, support supply localization efforts ,lead supplier development programs and maintain ASL (Approved Suppliers' List).
It is expected that you establish yourself as a subject matter expert by demonstrating the ability to work with stakeholders and suppliers to improve relevant processes, identify risks, quick reaction to supplier escapes, manage supplier approvals & product qualifications.
Job Description
Define and deploy supplier quality assurance policies. Manage activities that define, deploy and survey supplier quality requirements including qualifications, action plans, audits, and performance monitoring. Manage the part qualification process.
Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a discipline and analytical thinking to execute policy/strategy. Basic knowledge of related job disciplines.
Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.

Become a Quality Ambassador and represent GEV at supplier premises
Support discussions with Customers about supplier related topics
Ensure alignment between supplier onboarding and customer/project schedules
Proactively participate in Supplier Strategies with Sourcing
Prioritize based on business needs without jeopardizing EHS, Compliance and Quality
Provide informal guidance to new team members
Leverage technical expertise, facts and data to solve problems.
Elaborate simple and self-explanatory reports
Support incoming and goods inspection in designated GEV warehouse
Support overall supply chain localization
Maintain the ASL by ensuring suppliers status are valid based on their QA program/QA audit requirements
Perform warehouse QA audits as per their scope/schedule.
Ensure compliance to applicable standard: ISO 9001 or CSA N299/286
Follow qualification plan, coach supplier, oversee qualification activities at supplier.
Follow ITPLs and manage inspections accordingly (may be waived or outsourced to 3rd parties). Includes documentation and parts inspection.
Review all documentation coming from manufacturing phase to ensure all customer requirements have been met.
Timely closure of NCRs. Connect with suppliers and engineering for disposition and CAPAs. Coach suppliers on Problem solving
Maintain Approved Supplier List (ASL) by ensuring suppliers are properly qualified in accordance with their required QA Program
Ensure Warehouse audits are performed in accordance with their scope/schedule
Manage approval, surveillance and development of FS suppliers
Pre audit suppliers, prepare supplier for customer audits
Perform relevant QA tasks as assigned by the Country QA Lead
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college with 5+ years of Quality Engineering or related experience; or a High School Diploma / GED with 9+ years of relevant experience.
Certified auditor of QMS (Quality Management System) preferably of CSA N299 series of standards.
Expertise in CSA N299 -16 series of standards, CSA N286-12 and ISO-9001:2015
Desired Characteristics
Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
Experience or certification in NDT and Welding
Certified Quality Engineer
Proficient in OneSteam ERP (SAP), PowerNow NCR, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, RPDM (Engineering database)
