    Position summary

    ole to enhance the Central Europe Construction & Commissioning function with fresh ideas.

    The Commissioning Manager shall be responsible for monitoring of all commissioning activities of various projects under execution as per GEV Quality, Construction & Commissioning & EHS Process and guidelines, provide critical commissioning cost related and other support to the bid management team for tenders in the region and will be fully responsible for coordination with customer representatives to ensure client compliance & satisfaction as per the contract.

    The position holder reports to the Regional Construction & Commissioning Leader.

    Mission description

    • Lead the full commissioning scope for Large & Complex High- Voltage substation projects

    • Managing an international team of electrical commissioning engineers on site

    • Responsible for preparation of staffing plan, mobilization of site teams & follow up of actuals vs. plan.

    • Setup and implement a Completion Management System (CMS)

    • Monitoring, recording and reporting of the contractor work progress along with Site Commissioning teams

    • Implementing, Monitoring, recording and reporting of the Health, Safety and Environmental performance of the project site as per GE EHS standards in collaboration with Site Construction Staff

    • Liaise with design office for timely issuance of data required for preparation of site works (specs, designs, BOQ, material lists, ...)

    • Prepare Commissioning documentation like ITPs etc. and schedule

    • Publish progress reports and provide key inputs into Project monthly reports

    • Manage commissioning related quality topics including non- conformance reporting and Return of Experience

    • Responsible for managing the risks and opportunities related to Commissioning activities

    • Implement a LOTO system on site (Lock- out/ tag- out)

    • Monitor key commissioning events, through sample inspection of these activities to check that the contractors are complying with the contract requirements and the contractors' project Quality Plan

    Candidate requirements

    Skills/Qualifications:

    An appropriate qualification in Electrical Engineering with 5-10 years of work experience would be advantageous but equivalent experience in Commissioning Management is also feasible.

    Have appropriate health and safety experience, trainings and qualifications in line with international standards for roles of this nature to be able to identify and stop unsafe works.

    Experience:

    Previous experience of undertaking the role of Commissioning Manager on a large Substation Project. Equivalent experience in Commissioning Management is also feasible.

    Have previous experience in commissioning of key elements of the project including, but not limited to the following:

    • High voltage switchgear (up to 400kV)

    • Power transformers

    • Instrument transformers

    • Medium voltage switchgear

    • Reactive compensation equipment

    • Power and control cabling

    • Protection systems

    • SCADA systems

    • Earthing systems

    • Fibre optic cabling and systems

    • Site telecoms systems

    • LV power systems and auxiliary equipment

    • Grid connection interface works

    • Electrical HV safety rules & safe systems of work

    Knowledge/Other:

    • Be knowledgeable on international standards and 'best practice' in relation to commissioning, especially in Poland

    • Be knowledgeable on the key applicable standards and specifications associated with the commissioning works applicable in the country

    • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

    • Ability to be proactive and recommend and approve corrective actions if required

    • Ability to communicate in English & Polish effectively and to accurately and concisely report both verbally and in writing
