Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
Act as Site Information Protection & Security Leader for the Niskayuna location
Provide leadership and guidance on CMMC certification and compliance standards
Establish guardrails and develop processes to ensure teams adhere to these guardrails
Work with global project leaders to ensure timely and successful implementation of all information protection systems and programs
Coordinate day-to-day cybersecurity operational activities in Niskayuna
Partner with local and global team members in GE Vernova Advanced Research and GE Vernova to deliver secure IT solutions
Lead and coordinate site IT-security & compliance audit programs
Work with site business leadership to understand their requirements and develop cybersecurity & risk management solutions that meet their needs and align with the global cybersecurity strategy
Partner with the Externals team to ensure US Government projects are bid & executed in compliance with regulatory requirements
Coordinate response for IT-Security & information protection incidents that arise at the site
Lead Information Protection & IT-Security Awareness activities for Niskayuna
Ensure all information protection & IT-Security programs comply with regulatory requirements
Serve as a subject matter expert for cybersecurity and risk at the Niskayuna site
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in information technology, or related discipline with a minimum of 10 years of overall experience in IT and a minimum of 5 years working directly in the field of Information Security & Data protection
Experience applying controllership principles and enforcing compliance with local and global policies and regulations
Strong knowledge of IT Security concepts
Experience in security and compliance audit programs
Experience in designing, enhancing, and implementing detailed wing to wing processes
Proven track record of detailed quality documentation delivery to defined standards
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
Due to the nature of this role and Federal Contract Provisions, U.S. Citizenship is required to be considered for this role.

Desired Characteristics:
Relevant security certifications for the IT environment
Training or experience in conducting IT audits and ensuring follow-up to closure
Strong technical background in network or system administration, application development, or IT security
Experience in conducting forensically sound investigations
Proven experience in implementing and managing data leakage prevention utilities
Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as NIST, ISO 27001/2, COBIT, HIPAA, and others, including NIST 800-171
ITIL certification or substantial experience in implementing ITIL frameworks
Demonstrated ability to accelerate change within an organization
Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with a diverse group of IT staff across multiple sites, with proven success in working with global teams
Experience leading teams and driving cybersecurity initiatives
Experience serving as a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) or in a similar leadership role within an organization
The salary range for this position is $147,000 - $210,000 USD, annually. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location. This position is also eligible for a performance bonus. This position will remain posted until at least June 19th, 2025.
