    Position summary

    M) and Static Var Compensators (SVC), on which we are the global Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Finland. These systems are used to control power system voltage and reactive power flow as well as to improve the power system stability and transmission system efficiency. Via our projects, you truly have a chance to make the world a better place by helping our global customers in saving vital energy and securing stable electricity distribution.

    Key tasks:

    In this position, you will have a possibility to become an expert in people and engineering management of grid integration of high power (> 100MVAr) reactive power compensators namely STATCOM (static synchronous compensator) and SVC (static var compensator). Your main task is people and team leadership, and together with your team you will be accountable for successful System Design delivery according to highly demanding customer specifications. You get to see the full engineering workflow from Tender evaluations and bid preparation, to projects' detail design, and finally commissioning of the compensator at the actual site.

    Key Accountabilities

    • People Management for a global team

    • Plan, organize and execute on System Design technical tendering and project delivery activities

    • Validate Projects' resource needs and work estimations

    • Maintain and develop resource portfolio view and manage new recruitments

    • Advocate and mentor for first time right culture

    • Seek and deploy Continuous Improvement and Process improvement opportunities

    • Understand KPI's, set and control team/individual objectives accordingly

    • Support technical R&D in the field of FACTS System Design

    Your background:

    • BSc/MSc degree in Electrical Engineering

    • Experience from a Substation/Grid system design solutions e.g. FACTS, HVDC, Renewable Energy

    • Knowledge in development/application of engineering processes and continuous improvement

    • Fluent written and oral skills in English - Finnish language skill is a benefit
