    Position summary

    hip with the Embedded Computing & Cybersecurity team at GE Vernova Advanced Research provides students an opportunity to gain hands-on experience working collaboratively with our researchers developing advanced technologies enabling the Energy Transition.

    GE Vernova Advanced Research is looking for students pursuing graduate technical degrees in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, and related fields of study who have a strong interest in working in an industrial research environment. At GE Vernova Advanced Research, Scientists, Engineers, and Technicians work to provide GE's businesses and strategic partners with technical innovations for their future generation products, processes, and services. Our Interns work side by side with experts in aerodynamics, heat transfer, manufacturing, materials, and mechanical systems completing challenging multi-disciplinary technical projects applying their theoretical knowledge to real-life problems and developing skills in a cutting-edge research environment. Opportunities for networking and showcasing project accomplishments are also part of the program.

    Job Description

    Qualifications:

    • Current enrollment in a Ph.D. program, seeking a technical degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field in an accredited college or university

    • Permanent legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this role.

    • Minimum GPA 3.0 / 4.0 scale.

    Desired Characteristics:

    • Cybersecurity protocol development and validation experience

    • Experience with formal methods for protocol validation and verification

    • Knowledge of SMT solvers

    • Knowledge of cyber attack models

    • Experience with tools: Tamarin, Kind2, CVC4, Verdict

    • Experience with embedded programming languages: AADL, AGDA preferred

    • Excellent academic performance with technical research orientation

    • Ability to adapt to change and willingness to be flexible in a global and multi-disciplinary team environment

    • Strong interpersonal skills, initiative, and organization; demonstrated ability working with a team

    • Strong problem-solving skills, thorough attention to detail

    The pay range for this position is $1,000-$2,000 USD weekly. The specific weekly rate offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location.

    GE Vernova provides travel reimbursement and housing stipend for qualified Interns. This position will be posted until at least February 1, 2025.

    This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
