    Essential Responsibilities

    What You'll Do

    • Lead systems and project engineering activities across power conversion and electrical systems projects

    • Develop and review designs, specifications, and documentation for electrical systems, including:

      • Generators, transformers, switchboards, converters, motors, energy storage, and cabling
    • Ensure engineering outputs comply with health, safety, regulatory, and industry standards

    • Act as the technical focal point, coordinating with internal teams, suppliers, and subcontractors

    • Review electrical schematics and technical documentation for compliance and functionality

    • Provide technical input to project planning, delivery, and customer solutions

    • Support tendering and sales activities by providing engineering expertise

    • Participate in design reviews, engineering forums, and organisational improvement initiatives

    • Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering tools, processes, and systems

    What You Bring

    • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Instrumentation Engineering from a local or internationally recognised university. Those with a diploma coupled with relevant electrical and industry experience will be considered.

    • 7-10 years' experience in systems or electrical engineering within rail, power, utilities, or energy sectors

    • Strong technical knowledge of power conversion and electrical systems across design, manufacturing, field engineering, or equipment lifecycle support

    • Ability to read, write, and review technical specifications and engineering documentation

    • Experience with systems engineering and assurance activities such as Safety in Design, HAZOP, FMECA, RAM, and Human Factors would be advantageous, but not necessary.

    • Experience interpreting power system studies and design outputs, including SLDs, protection coordination, load flow, fault studies, harmonics, EMC, and cable sizing would be advantageous, but not necessary.

    • Clear communication skills and the ability to work with diverse internal and external stakeholders

    • Customer-focused mindset with commercial awareness

    • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required

    Nice to Have

    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic project environment

    • Experience working in matrix organisations and with international teams
