In this role you will focus on:
Defining requirements and FPGA architectures alongside other hardware and software engineers.
Specifying, designing, implementing, optimizing, and documenting FPGA firmware using industry-standard tools and methodologies.
Developing and debugging firmware for diverse applications like signal processing, data acquisition, and control systems.
Conducting verification and validation testing to ensure your designs meet performance and reliability requirements.
Integrating FPGA designs and modules into larger systems and verifying their functionality.
Collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Applying best engineering standards and developing design practices to ensure FPGA designs comply with relevant health & safety and international standards.
We are looking for a committed and professional individual with:
A relevant degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualifications, or significant experience in an electrical design engineering environment.
Strong background in FPGA design, Embedded Software design and programming.
Ability to translate high level design requirements into efficient and robust FPGA implementations.
Proficiency in VHDL programming languages.
Solid understanding of digital design concepts, including Register Transfer Level (RTL) coding, synthesis, and timing closure.
Familiarity with FPGA-based development boards and hardware description languages.
Ability to design of interface circuits, both analogue and digital circuits including microprocessor, FPGA and memory circuits.
Experience with circuit simulation design tools.
Meticulous and thorough work ethic with an attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
What will make you stand out:
Design of SOC (System on Chip) circuits, including some appreciation of configuration and software.
Prior experience with high-speed digital design, DSP algorithms, or embedded systems.
Familiarity with PCB design tools such as Altium, OrCAD, Mentor Graphics, CAD Star, etc.
High speed communications knowledge such as Ethernet, fibre optic and higher speed derivatives thereof.
Knowledge of power electronic converter systems and electrical machines.
