Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles while adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements.
Monitor and communicate project status, business issues, and significant developments.
Maintain an in-depth knowledge of joining processes, including a variety of techniques such as welding and brazing, to effectively address diverse engineering challenges and select the most appropriate method for specific applications.
Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
Provide continuous improvement support and seek opportunities to enhance processes across the repair network.
Collaborate with supply chain, component teams, productivity departments, and other GE organizations to identify opportunities for projects and improvements within the supply chain network.
Qualifications/ Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Welding, Materials, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent engineering degree, or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 8 years of manufacturing experience, with at least 5 years in joining processes.
Demonstrate strong understanding of superalloy welding and brazing metallurgy.
Knowledge of industrial gas turbine components and processes, such as thermal spray coating, surface finishing, sealing, machining, etc., would be advantageous.
Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively with both internal and external customers.
Good understanding of lean methodology.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability and willingness to travel a minimum of 10% of the time, as required.
