Provide leadership and technical direction to personnel and projects.
Function as interface between sub-contractors and in-house engineering teams.
Perform oversight activities related to pipe support design, analysis, and documentation.
Prepare technical documents such as design basis reports, design requirements
Support procurement and subcontract activities associated with new plant projects.
Represent GEH at industry forums such as ASME meetings and BWROG conferences
Maintain and develop technical design procedures associated with piping and pipe support analysis activities.
Procure, maintain, and facilitate the use of analysis software
Required Qualifications:
Minimum bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering (Other Engineering Disciplines may be acceptable based on work experience)
Minimum 8 years of experience in pipe supports design and analysis
Professional Engineering Designation (P.eng)
Desired Characteristics:
Nuclear Industry knowledge / experience
Working knowledge and experience with ASME Section III analysis to subsection NF and ASME B31.1
Pipe Whip Restraint Design/Analysis
Experience pipe support analysis software such as GT STRUDL, STADD, ANSYS, LICAD
Experience with development of Scopes of Work and performing oversite and owners' acceptance of subcontracted pipe support design & analysis.
3D modeling and large scale BIM tool experience
PE or EIT in training certificate
Strong communication skills and capable of articulating specific technical topics or assignments
Strong problem solving abilities
Strong analytical and process skills
Strong data analyst capabilities and ability to create small automation scripts to streamline analyses
Ability to work effectively within a highly collaborative environment
Mentoring of less senior engineers
A self-starter willing to take initiative
