    Position summary

    • Technical Governance

      • Ensure consistent and high-quality delivery of system-level engineering deliverables, including performance studies, specifications, models, and integration plans.
      • Oversee system architecture and technical interfaces between disciplines (e.g., control, primary, secondary, software, and protection).
      • Provide guidance and review for project-critical design decisions, ensuring technical compliance with standards and customer requirements.
    • Project & Portfolio Execution

      • Support bid and project execution phases by defining system-level concepts and integration strategies.
      • Collaborate with global engineering teams, project management, and supply chain to ensure smooth system integration and handover to commissioning.
      • Drive design standardization, digital engineering tools, and best practices across HVDC, FACTS, and ACS domains.
    • People & Capability Development

      • Build strong succession and competency plans for all Systems Engineering subfunctions.
      • Promote talent growth through coaching, technical training, and cross-project exposure.
      • Attract and retain high-performing engineers with a focus on diversity and inclusion.
    • Stakeholder Management

      • Partner closely with NPI, Tendering, and Regional teams to ensure alignment on technical strategy and resource deployment.

      • Represent Systems Engineering in internal and external technical forums, customer meetings, and audits.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical or Power Systems Engineering (or related discipline). PhD preferred.

    • 15+ years of experience in system-level engineering for power transmission projects, preferably including HVDC and FACTS systems.

    • Proven leadership experience in managing engineering teams or functions in a matrix, global organization.

    • Deep understanding of system studies (load flow, transient stability, harmonics, EMT), control and protection concepts, and system integration challenges.

    • Strong communication and influencing skills across multi-disciplinary and multicultural environments.

    • Demonstrated ability to drive standardization, process improvement, and innovation.

    Desired Characteristics

    • Experience in large EPC environments.

    • Familiarity with industry standards (IEC, IEEE, CIGRE).

    • Exposure to digital tools (e.g., PSCAD, MATLAB/Simulink, DIgSILENT PowerFactory) and model-based systems engineering approaches.

    • Passion for developing people and enabling the next generation of technical leaders.
