    Position summary

    d CFD-based (Computational Fluid Dynamics) aeroacoustic and aerodynamic calculations to evaluate noise emission from wind turbines

    • Interact with blade designers and other Wind System engineers to integrate acoustic considerations into wind turbine design and operation

    • Assess design risks and establish validation plans for new acoustic concepts, both in the context of wind tunnel and full-scale rotor measurements

    • Perform field measurements and data analysis to quantify acoustic performance and define corrective actions as needed

    • Interact with acoustic tool developers and provide inputs to build the next tool's generation

    • Provide analysis to support the development of wind farm noise models and identify farm level noise mitigation methods

    • Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations effectively to key stakeholders

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or Acoustical Engineering or equivalent knowledge/experience

    Desired Characteristics

    • Demonstrated knowledge of fluid dynamics, aerodynamics or acoustics

    • Master's or Ph.D. degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or Acoustical Engineering

    • Experience with experimental or computational methods for acoustics, fluid dynamics and aerodynamics

    • Experience in aeroacoustic theory as applied to trailing edge noise, boundary layer noise, fan noise or turbomachinery noise

    • Ability to write clean and well-documented codes in Python and Matlab languages

    • Familiarity with wind turbine design, operation and MBS (Multi-Body Simulation) software packages would be considered a plus

    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets

    • Solid oral and written communication skills. Effective collaboration skills

    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
