What you'll do on a typical day:
Identify facility design requirements based on activity levels, product dimensional profiles and product flow and transportation methods
Oversee or ensure timely communication is provided to stakeholders, team members, customers and related parties on the status of projects, work to resolve potential service or operational issues
Identify areas for improvement based on analysis of data and observations and establish tasks and processes required to complete proposed work content
Analyze statistical data for inbound and outbound order volumes while optimizing process efficiency
Identify and champion improvement opportunities in safety, productivity, cost savings and quality
Identify facility up-fit requirements and use of automation where justified
Communicate IT equipment (hardware and cabling) needs to the Information Technology Team
This position is expected to be 100% onsite
What you need to succeed at GXO:
At a minimum, you'll need:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, or equivalent related work or military experience
2 years of engineering experience in supply chain management, logistics, warehousing or a related field
Experience with Microsoft Office
Experience in engineering methods, Lean tools, and quality standards
It'd be great if you also have:
Knowledge of distribution center/3PL concepts - understanding of warehousing best practices
Technical knowledge of DC automation (i.e., Auto Baggers, sortation) and Warehouse Control Systems
Extensive experience in quality, engineering, lean manufacturing and work cell manufacturing; ability to identify best practices in a high-volume production environment
E-commerce experience including starting up small to large volume solutions
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate with leaders and colleagues
Experience with analytical tools such as flowcharts, Pareto charts, cause and effect diagrams, run charts, etc.
Ability to operate in a both a team and individual contributor environment
Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills
Project and resource management experience
