    Position summary

    What you'll do on a typical day:

    • Drive a yard jockey from dock to dock

    • Pick up and deliver trailers to the specified docking area

    • Perform pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections

    • Load and unload freight

    • Complete required paperwork and communicate clearly (verbally and in writing) with supervisors and associates

    What you need to succeed at GXO:

    At a minimum, you'll need:

    • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record over the past 2 years

    • Ability to read and write and accurately complete paperwork

    • Understanding of bills of lading, manifests and freight bills

    It'd be great if you also have:

    • High school diploma or equivalent

    • 6 months of relevant experience

    • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including planned and unplanned overtime, which may include weekends

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    This job requires the ability to:

    • Walk, climb, bend, stoop, squat, twist, push and pull

    • Reach (including above your head)

    • Work for extended periods of time on various surfaces that may be uneven or slippery

    • Connect and disconnect a yard jockey

    • Drive a truck and/or tractor-trailer combination with power steering

    • Lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and greater than 100 lbs. occasionally; may also move up to 500 lbs. on wheeled carts
