Sr Principal Architect, Platform Engineering

Job Responsibilities

• Advise cross-functional teams on technology selection to achieve target state architecture and decisions on improvements to current technologies.

• Develop multi-year roadmaps aligned with business and architecture strategy and priorities

• Create complex and scalable platforms and coding frameworks using appropriate software design

• Develop secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others

• Serve as the function's go-to subject matter expert

• Contribute to the development of technical methods in specialized fields in line with the latest product development methodologies

• Create durable, reusable software frameworks that improves velocity and quality of output across teams and functions

• Champion the firm's culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise

• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability

• Expertise in Java programming language.

• Deep knowledge in building platform and infrastructure as services

• Advanced knowledge of software architecture, application development, and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., public cloud, Infra and API observability, etc.)

• Experience applying expertise and new methods to determine solutions for complex architecture problems in one or more technical disciplines

• Strong understanding of observability principles, including logging, monitoring, tracing, and alerting.

• Ability to present and effectively communicate to senior leaders and executives

• Practical cloud native experience

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Strong presentation and communication skills

• Experience on Infra and Platform as a Service, canary and blue/green deployment, progressive rollout.

• Experience with OpenTelemetry and observability tools and platforms such as Dynatrace, Prometheus, Jaeger, Grafana, ELK Stack, Datadog, or similar.

• Gen-AI and ML experiences a plus
