IBM CICS Transaction Server for z/OS is the gold standard for enterprise-grade transaction processing.It's a platform that can handle billions of transactions daily, with sub-second response times, unmatched reliability, and bulletproof security.It supports modern mission-critical Business Applications in industries like banking, insurance and government.
The Mainframe CICS System Administrator / Programmer is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and performance optimization of CICS environments on IBM z/OS platforms. This role ensures the reliability, security, and efficiency of CICS transaction systems. Key responsibilities include :
Maintain the CICS infrastructure on the z/OS platform.
Support CICS-related products and application developers.
Install, customize, and test CICS system software.
Perform system upgrades and apply maintenance to keep the CICS environment current.
Administer CICS systems including system definitions, macro configurations, and VTAM terminal setups.
Monitor and optimize CICS performance.
Implement and maintain security protocols, access controls, and audit trails for sensitive data.
Manage CICS logs and traces and conduct forensic analysis for compliance and troubleshooting.
Support application teams with CICS-related configurations, batch job scheduling, and data access.
Collaborate with system programmers, DBAs, and network teams to ensure seamless integration.
Participate in disaster recovery planning and execution.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Basic IT or programming experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology.
Analytical mindset with attention to detail
Strong communication and documentation skills in French (preferred but not required) and in English
Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
Experience with zOS Mainframe environments is a valuable asset.
(This position requires the employee to work on a regular basis with Kyndryl stakeholders located in other Canadian provinces, the United States, or internationally where English is the common language, making knowledge of the English language a requirement for this position in addition to fluency in French.)
