Mainframe CICS System Programmer - entry level

The focus of this position is in the support of CICS (Customer Information Control System). IBM CICS Transaction Server for z/OS is the gold standard for enterprise-grade transaction processing.It's a platform that can handle billions of transactions daily, with sub-second response times, unmatched reliability, and bulletproof security.It supports modern mission-critical Business Applications in industries like banking, insurance and government.

The Mainframe CICS System Administrator / Programmer is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and performance optimization of CICS environments on IBM z/OS platforms. This role ensures the reliability, security, and efficiency of CICS transaction systems. Key responsibilities include :

• Maintain the CICS infrastructure on the z/OS platform.

• Support CICS-related products and application developers.

• Install, customize, and test CICS system software.

• Perform system upgrades and apply maintenance to keep the CICS environment current.

• Administer CICS systems including system definitions, macro configurations, and VTAM terminal setups.

• Monitor and optimize CICS performance.

• Implement and maintain security protocols, access controls, and audit trails for sensitive data.

• Manage CICS logs and traces and conduct forensic analysis for compliance and troubleshooting.

• Support application teams with CICS-related configurations, batch job scheduling, and data access.

• Collaborate with system programmers, DBAs, and network teams to ensure seamless integration.

• Participate in disaster recovery planning and execution.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Basic IT or programming experience

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology.

• Analytical mindset with attention to detail

• Strong communication and documentation skills in French (preferred but not required) and in English

• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams

• Experience with zOS Mainframe environments is a valuable asset.

(This position requires the employee to work on a regular basis with Kyndryl stakeholders located in other Canadian provinces, the United States, or internationally where English is the common language, making knowledge of the English language a requirement for this position in addition to fluency in French.)
