Mainframe Expert z/OS System Programmer

• Monitor and troubleshoot z/OS environments, ensuring high performance and reliability.

• Apply patches, fixes, and updates to the z/OS environment in a timely manner.

• Coordinate and support system performance tuning, ensuring optimal system operation.

• Collaborate with network, storage, and application teams to resolve issues and improve system efficiency.

• Document system configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures.

• Provide support during system migrations, upgrades, and system integrations.

• Manage disaster recovery planning and execution for z/OS systems.

• Serve as the go-to expert for troubleshooting and resolving complex system-level issues.

• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in mainframe technologies and z/OS capabilities.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Proven experience as a z/OS system programmer with a deep understanding of mainframe environments.

• 2+ years of extensive experience with system-level troubleshooting and performance tuning.

• Familiarity with automation tools, job control languages (JCL), and mainframe scripting.

• Solid understanding of mainframe hardware, networking, and storage systems.

• Ability to manage and execute complex system maintenance tasks and projects.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• z/OS Certification (preferred).
