    Position summary

    works like ITIL, and project management tools, while driving modernization efforts and operational excellence across the mainframe landscape.

    Responsibilities:

    • Lead end-to-end delivery of mainframe infrastructure and application projects

    • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, risk registers, and status reports

    • Coordinate with system programmers, storage, networking, application, and security teams

    • Manage change control processes aligned with ITIL and organizational governance

    • Plan and execute z/OS upgrades, IPLs, PTF rollouts, and maintenance activities

    • Oversee disaster recovery drills and ensure compliance with RTO/RPO objectives

    • Act as liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders

    • Track vendor deliverables, SLAs, and license renewals for IBM and ISV products

    • Facilitate CAB (Change Advisory Board) approvals and manage cross-team dependencies

    • Drive process improvements and identify opportunities for mainframe optimization

    Required Technical and Professional Experience:

    • Minimum 10+ years of experience in handling modernization or migration projects

    • Proven experience as a Project Manager in enterprise IT environments, preferably with IBM z/OS mainframe projects

    • Experience in change, release, and incident management in mainframe contexts

    • Familiarity with disaster recovery solutions (e.g., GDPS, storage replication)

    • Proficiency in project management tools: MS Project, Jira, Confluence, Clarity PPM

    • Exposure to z/OSMF, Zowe CLI, or mainframe DevOps integrations

    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field (mandatory)

    Preferred Technical and Professional Experience:

    • Proven experience as a Project Manager in enterprise IT environments, preferably with IBM z/OS mainframe projects

    • Strong understanding of z/OS concepts: LPARs, JES2/JES3, TSO/ISPF, SDSF, JCL, SMP/E, RACF

    • Working knowledge of DFSMS, WLM, RMF, and performance monitoring tools (OMEGAMON, MainView - awareness level acceptable)

    • Knowledge of ITIL v4 practices and governance processes

    • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills

    • Ability to manage onshore/offshore and cross-functional teams

    • Certifications: PMP, PRINCE2, or ITIL v4
