Driving the design, development, integration, delivery, and evolution of highly scalable distributed software you will integrate with other layers and offerings. You will provide deeper functionality and solutions to address customer needs. You will work closely with software engineers, architects, product managers, and partner teams to get high-quality products and features through the agile software development lifecycle.

Your continuous grooming of features/user stories to estimate, identify technical risks/dependencies and clearly communicate them to project stakeholders will ensure the features are delivered with the right quality and within timeline. You will maintain and drive the clearing of technical debt, vulnerabilities, and currency of the 3rd party components within the product.

As a Software Engineering Technical Specialist, you will also coach and mentor engineers to design and implement highly available, secure, distributed software in a scalable architecture. What You'll Do

• Administer and operate IBM A operating system and manage UNIX systems.

• Perform incident management, troubleshooting, and problem resolution to ensure system stability.

• Develop scripts and automation using Python; create dashboards and reports for performance monitoring.

• Analyze basic performance metrics and provide actionable insights.

• Work with monitoring tools (any platform) and leverage Power BI for reporting (preferred).

• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and product teams to deliver high-quality solutions through the agile lifecycle.

• Maintain system health, address vulnerabilities, and manage technical debt.

• Coach and mentor team members on best practices for secure, scalable, and highly available systems.

Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum 4 years of experience in system administration and operations.

• Basic knowledge of IBM i operating system and UNIX administration.

• Experience with Server Systems AND Storage Systems.

• Proficiency in Python scripting for automation and reporting.

• Familiarity with monitoring tools and ability to interpret performance metrics.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage incidents effectively.

• Strong communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Power BI for reporting and visualization.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.

• Professional certifications such as Master Certified Technical Specialist are a plus.

Work Model and Schedule

• Location: Medellín

• Work Mode: 100% on-site at the client's office.

• Schedule: Rotating shifts 24/7
