    Position summary

    law enforcement agencies in the US & APAC through engagement with senior law enforcement leaders and the promotion of and training on Match Group’s law enforcement portal, which facilitates Match Group’s emergency response, legal and investigative support for law enforcement. Through your collaboration with law enforcement partners and Match Group leaders, you will make a real and meaningful impact on the world. This role is highly cross functional and will be expected to work closely with teams across the portfolio, including Brand’s Operations, Trust & Safety, Engineering, and Product teams as well as Match Group’s Legal, Government Relations, Comms, Privacy, Product and Safety & Social Advocacy teams, on all substantive law enforcement matters to make the platforms and the communities who use our products safer. 

    This position will require significant domestic and international travel (50%) and will ideally be based in one of the cities where we have offices/work spaces: West Hollywood, Dallas, San Francisco, Washington DC, or New York.

    How you'll make an impact:

    • You will establish strategic plans and objectives with cross-functional Brand leadership teams 
    • You'll play a critical role on the Safety & Social Advocacy team, helping to drive strategy and providing global perspective to regional and functional heads of Brand’s operations teams
    • You will coordinate with internal investigation teams to develop and refer relevant matters to law enforcement authorities
    • You will serve as a regional subject matter expert with regard to sensitive or strategic law enforcement engagement needs and develop policy
    • You'll deliver key projects within the LE Operation’s roadmap, including execution; measured progress; and presentation of results to stakeholders throughout the organization
    • You will manage and lead relationships with law enforcement and governmental authorities and manage law enforcement and emergency response in the US & APAC
    • You'll plan and execute educational programs for law enforcement authorities on our policies for protecting user privacy and responding to legal requests
    • You will make judgment calls regarding key safety matters and LE Operations day to day operations.  
    • You will work with internal teams and global safety organizations to develop and enhance safety awareness of issues across the world.
    • You will use existing insights, and develop an agenda to unearth new ones, to drive engagement with law enforcement
    • You will work independently and determine methods and best practices for new and/or special assignments.

    We could be a match if:

    • You have at least 8 years of law enforcement specific subject matter expertise, either directly in law enforcement or in combination with private industry and experience in an investigative capacity, ideally including working in an interagency or task force environment
    • You have proven experience engaging law enforcement across a broad spectrum of case categories, including sexual assault and homicide. 
    • You have regional subject matter expertise in relevant data disclosure laws, including regional law in the US & APAC
    • You are familiar with Japanese culture and can navigate the customs of the country (even better if you are fluent in Japanese!)
    • You have experience working with data protection authorities and regulators. 
    • You have a depth of experience conducting investigations in conjunction with industry, or alternatively, working on private/public partnerships at the state/federal level. 
    • You demonstrate high-quality decision-making and influencing. 
    • You are able to participate in and influence decision-making processes with appropriate stakeholders. 
    • Yo have experience working in a crisis response or rapid response process.
    • You have strong working knowledge of privacy principles and policies. 

    Preferred but not required skills:

    • You have 10+ years of regional Law Enforcement Response Team and/or liaison experience in the US & APAC
    • You have an advanced degree in criminal justice, political science, sociology, public administration international relations or another related area of study (e.g., a Juris Doctorate) 
    • You have experience liaising and communicating with International Policing Organizations (such as, Interpil, Europol, etc.) 
    • IAPP Certification for multiple regions, or management
