Material Handler Supervisor

h flow of materials through the facility to support production departments. The role is crucial in achieving 100% on-time delivery of quality products to customers while controlling costs. This position requires adherence to IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 procedures and protocols.

Your Responsibilities

• Supervision and Efficiency: Lead and supervise the Material Handlers team to maximize production efficiency by reducing forklift downtime.

• Team Management: Directly supervise (20-30) Material Handlers assigned to support production activities.

• Organization: Maintain all storage areas in a neat and orderly fashion.

• Inventory Management: Assist with monthly, weekly, and daily inventories. (750,000 sqft facility)

• Forklift Inspections: Ensure that Material Handlers complete and document daily forklift inspections.

• Certifications: Monitor and ensure Material Handlers' certifications are current.

• Continuous Improvement: Develop and implement continuous improvement suggestions to enhance operational efficiency.

• Overtime Control: Manage overtime in alignment with the Business Plan.

• Housekeeping and Organization: Improve plant/warehouse organization and housekeeping, including optimizing plant layout.

• Additional Duties: Perform housekeeping and other activities as assigned.

Who we are looking for

Qualifications:

• 2-3 years of experience in a similar role.

• Experience in Shipping & Receiving.

• Warehousing experience in a Tier 1 automotive environment. (Perferred)

• Inventory Control or Scheduling experience.

• Ability to work overtime hours as required.

• Forklift experience

• Supervisor experience

Skills:

• Safe operation of forklifts and overhead cranes/chain slings.

• Strong accuracy and attention to detail.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities for various customers (internal & external).

• Excellent organizational skills.

• Capability to evaluate team member performance and address discipline issues.
