ling Engineer is responsible to manage all tooling and tooling build timelines (Tool Tracker) to ensure consistently high-quality components are produced on time and cost effectively. The Tooling Engineer is expected to ensure the most up to date technologies are utilized to continuously improve our product, meeting our customer's expectations. The Tooling Engineer has input into the short- and long-term strategic tooling plans. The tooling engineer will also participate in Magna's Center of Excellence (C.O.E.) to provide best practices in the metal forming section for all forming sections. Maintain and improve documents on the C.O.E. The Tooling Engineer is responsible for new tooling buy off at vendors and will also assist production assembly tooling when required.
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of five (5) years manufacturing experience in the automotive industry. Familiar with metal fabricating, assembly processes and related tooling
Knowledge of progressive dies, transfer dies, blank forming, tube forming
Advanced GD&T; Effective communication and presentation skills (verbal and written)
Demonstrated planning and system implementation ability
