    Position summary

    mics responsibilities would entail an understanding of Payments business and associated revenues for various stakeholders, understanding of payment transaction flows, ability to build financial models, competence in data analysis to gather useful insights, and understanding of regulatory guidelines, among others. The role is expected to support the Leadership, Sales, Business Development and Product teams in winning market-share for Mastercard by developing a balanced framework of customer economics factoring in local market realities.
    A candidate high on energy with solid analytical skills, comfort with data/numbers, deep sense of accountability and ownership, strong execution focus, and a collaborative mindset, would be most likely to succeed in the role.
    This is an individual contributor role.

    Role Overview
    Pricing Strategy & Analysis
    • Develop and maintain pricing models for products
    • Conduct market level pricing analysis and benchmarking
    • Develop pricing initiatives aligned with strategic priorities and country plans, in line with local market and customer dynamics
    • Engage frontliners to evaluate feasibility of pricing initiatives on customers

    Interchange Management
    • Monitor and analyze interchange fee structure
    • Model structures that balance the ecosystem impact and stakeholder impact
    • Engage with internal stakeholders to assess interchange impacts on business and customer performance
    • Partner with account managers in external customer engagements, communicating and sharing interchange trends
    • Work with Regional Interchange SME on interchange implementation

    Coverage
    • Serve as the pricing and interchange subject matter expert for Japan
    • Work closely with Country, Divisional and Regional teams (Sales, Finance, Legal, Regulatory, Product) to align pricing and interchange initiative development and execution
    • Prepare and present analytical findings to senior leadership and cross-functional team
    • Proactive in identifying, raising to senior leadership and cross functional teams, customer and market risks arising from current and proposed pricing and interchange changes

    Experience / Educational Requirements
    Pricing & Interchange responsibilities would entail an understanding of payments business and associated revenues for various stakeholders. The candidate will be required to have a strong understanding of payment transaction flows, strong ability to build financial models, expertise in data analysis to gather useful insights, a proactive solutioning mindset and understanding of regulatory guidelines, among others.
    The role is expected to support the Sales and Business Development teams in winning market share and sustainable growth for Mastercard by developing as well as executing an optimized framework factoring in local market realities.
    A candidate high on energy with solid analytical skills, an expert with managing and interpreting data/numbers, deep sense of accountability and ownership, strong execution focus, and a collaborative mindset, would be most likely to succeed in the role.
    This is an individual contributor role, reporting to Director - Strategy, Pricing & Interchange (Japan).
    Other qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree required, or equivalent work experience in payment industry in operations and/or technology areas
    • Proven presentation skills to wide spectrum of staff levels required.
    • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills required with a solid track record for developing internal and external relationships.
    • Good organizational skills.
    • Ability to work effectively across a multicultural and matrix environment
