    About the Role

    The Senior Analyst, ASEAN-India Economic Cooperation serves as the analytical lead for initiatives focused on India-ASEAN trade, economic integration, and cross-border collaboration. The role requires deep regional expertise, strong policy orientation, and excellent writing and stakeholder engagement skills.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Serve as the analytical and research lead for MEI initiatives on India-ASEAN trade and economic cooperation.
    • Lead research on trade flows, supply chains, digital trade, payments, tourism, and regional integration.
    • Develop policy-oriented research outputs including flagship reports, briefing notes, and executive presentations.
    • Support design and delivery of multi-stakeholder thought leadership programs and high-level convenings.
    • Engage with government agencies, regional institutions, academia, and private-sector partners.
    • Translate complex economic and trade analysis into clear narratives for policymakers.
    • Collaborate closely with the Lead South Asia/India Economist and the Lead ASEAN/Southeast Asia Economist to align research agendas and insights.
    • Represent MEI in external forums related to ASEAN, India, and regional trade themes.
    • Provide briefings to Mastercard leadership on trade, geopolitical, and regional economic developments.

    All About You

    • Advanced degree in Economics, International Economics, Public Policy, or a related field.
    • 4-7+ years of experience in economic research, policy analysis, or advisory roles focused on ASEAN and/or India.
    • Experience working in or advising the public sector, including government or multilateral institutions.
    • Strong understanding of trade and trade economics; direct trade research experience preferred.
    • Excellent writing skills with experience producing policy-facing research and thought leadership.
    • Comfort engaging senior stakeholders and contributing to public-private dialogue.
    • Experience working in regional or cross-cultural environments; ASEAN or Singapore experience preferred.
    • Ability to deliver results in ambiguity and tolerance for dynamic objectives are necessities, given our fast-moving, nimble corporate culture
