Role
• Maintenance and management: Perform daily administration, monitoring, and upgrading of load balancer appliances and systems. This involves ensuring that configurations and PKI certificates are backed up and renewed.
• Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve complex network and application traffic issues, often involving performance, resilience, and security.
• Interact with the engineering and project teams to transform business and technical requirements into load balancer monitoring strategies.
• Support the creation of solutions with high level of innovation, cost effectiveness, high quality and faster time to market.
• Contribute to the overall strategy and manage complex issues within functional area of expertise.
• Develop and maintain automation around troubleshooting and overall stability of load balancer instances and configurations.

• Expert at Internet / data center architecture and monitoring standards
• Expert at load balancers and web application firewalls
• Network Connectivity - IPv4, IPv6, port assignment
• Experience with one of the following technologies: Citrix NetScaler, HA Proxy, AVI and F5 BIG-IP products preferred
• Expert at SSL and digital certificates
• Experience with load balancing HTTP/HTTPS
• Web and Middleware experience preferred
Responsible for multiple aspects of life cycle of the load balancing platform, including the Monitoring, Patching, and Building of all load balancer configurations at MasterCard. As part of the Load Balancer Operations Team Engineers are engaged to help troubleshoot and diagnose complex problems in multiple aspects of the Masterecard Global Enterprise network. The primary responsibility of a Load Balancer Operations Engineer ensures infrastructure monitoring strategies adhere to MasterCard standards, processes, availability requirements, and best practices. Requires a deep understanding of load balancer hardware, networking, security and tools used to monitor, test and evaluate those technologies. This is a "hands on" role that is responsible for leading troubleshooting sessions and driving these sessions to resolution. A key responsibility of this position is to provide training to Operations staff to educate and better position these teams for support of complex environments. Collaborate with Business Operations and Service Delivery teams to architect complex network design solutions encompassing end-to-end application architecture that scale for strategic growth.
Position requires a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology or related, and 5 years of experience in the job offered, or as Platform Architect or related. Alternatively, employer will accept a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent and seven (5) to ten (7) years of progressively responsible experience. Qualifying experience must include:
