    Overview

    The Mastercard Data & Analytics team is looking for VP of Software Engineering, to drive our mission to unlock potential of data assets by consistently innovating, eliminating friction in how users access data from its Big Data repositories and enforce standards and priniples in the Big Data + API space. This role will be responsible for driving the API strategy for the enterprise data warehouse that includes establishing platform strategy, enforcing governance, defining and enabling Data Serving framework for market facing product teams, defining and propagating best practices and responsible for delivery of high standards Data Solutions. The role will also invovle leading cross geography teams of Software leaders.

    Role

    • Responsible for design, development and delivery of high quality, secure, scalable software solutions based on technical requirements specifications and design artifacts within expected time and budget
    • Develop and build software solutions on cloud data platforms like AWS, Snowflake and Databricks adhereing to industry standards.
    • Build and enforce governance framework for Big data usage for enterprise data warehouse and beyond.
    • Collaborate on cross-functional agile teams that include Front-end Developers, Web service development, Report/BI Developers and Product Owners to implement the next generation of enterprise BI platform/application
    • Provide technology leadership to other leaders in big data and cloud data platform space.
    • Stay abreast of Analytics technology trends and industry best practices to hone and maintain your talent
    • Participate in architectural discussions , iteration planning, and feature sizing meetings
    • Adhere to Agile processes and participate actively in agile ceremonies
    • Coordinating with technical leads on their technical, architectural and design efforts.
    • Provide thought leadership in the space of big data accessibility experience and API engineering.
    • Collaborating with business leaders across the company to ensure our software products align with business objectives and meet the latest API standards in the industry
    • Developing technical talent into the next great leader.
    • Collaborating with our internal engineering partners in Web Engineering, Data Engineering and Open API to build cloud enabled, data centric microservices and expose these to internal and external stakeholders
    • Leading our engineering teams in an agile team structure to advance high level strategies like cloud enablement and streaming analytics
    • Working with Senior Leadership teams to advance our Big Data Strategy and our Data as a Service roadmaps

    All About You

    Experience managing, developing and supporting Big Data assets on premise and on cloud, ETL solutions,Web based solutions, BI solutions and other analytics solutions. Exposure to technology trends like Angular, Streaming tech and similar technology is added advantage.

    • You're a tech guru, with experience building and supporting cloud enabled microservices using Big Data platforms like Hadoop, Kafka, Oracle or SQL Server
    • Mastery of CSS3, HTML5 and JavaScript with solid design and coding skills
    • Experience integrating UI clients with JSON-based REST services built using server-side technologies such as Angular and Node.js
    • Experience using a continuous integration stacks and client-side build/dependency management tools such as grunt, bower, npm, JIRA, SVN/GIT, Bamboo, Crucible/Stash, VSTS, etc
    • The ideal candidate will have an extensive background in web-based UI applications with a passion for the latest technologies
    • Strong command of UI performance optimization techniques, web standards and cross-browser compatibility
    • Proven experience in architecting and implementing beautiful, usable, high-performance UIs
    • You find energy in hiring and onboarding the best and brightest teams available and ensuring they have robust training to get them up to speed efficiently.
    • You have a passion for technology and the latest advancements in web services development
    • You have a strong commitment towards quality and continuous improvement of processes and software; you're well-versed with software engineering practices. (e.g. Continuous Integration, Build/Deploy, Unit Testing, Regression Testing, Test & Staging Environments, object oriented design and development)
    What you'll bring:
    • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
    • Experience with Object Oriented Development and Design Management using Scala, Spark,Java or C#
    • Demonstrated ability to balance short term tactical decisions with long term strategy objectives
    • Experience in a technical leadership role either as a people manager or technical lead within an agile team structure
