op and drive strategic solutions to implement BCBS 239 components, process efficiency, and strengthen data governance across the Firm's Risk. This includes leading the team and guiding the Risk Domains in their support of initiatives related to their adherence with BCBS 239 principles and the Global Data Quality Policy.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design and facilitate implementation of BCBS 239 component processes related to data governance across Risk; ensuring scope, timeliness, and requirements are met and in accordance with BCBS 239 principles
- Co-ordinate, partner with and influence Risk Domain leads to prepare and support implementation of BCBS 239 components, including Critical Reports, Time of Stress, EUC, Manual Process
- Manage governance process to ensure framework standards are met across Risk Domain, Functional Areas, and Legal Entities, including leading governance committees
- Develop and update policies, procedures and/or processes as needed to ensure adherence with BCBS 239 principles
- Lead co-ordination, management and preparations for internal and external examinations, track and monitor audit deliverables
- Ensure key risks and issues are identified, documented, mitigated, and communicated to the appropriate stakeholders in a timely manner
- Prepare and present BCBS 239 materials, including approval packages to various senior management committees and forums
- Team Management including mentor/coaching junior team members, provide supervisory oversight, coordination of the team's tasks and escalating issues in a timely manner
Experience, Qualifications
- Possess Bachelor's degree; MBA or MA preferred
- 6+ years of work experience in the financial services industry preferably in risk management, or equivalent experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong collaboration, relationship building and teamwork skills
- Strong understanding of BCBS 239 and risk management and controls concepts
- Knowledge and exposure to US and EMEA financial regulations including BCBS 239 is preferred
- Ability to work effectively on multiple projects under tight deadlines
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to provide information in usable formats
- Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of stakeholders, both written and verbally
- Ability to run meetings with multiple stakeholders and business areas
- Strong organizational and project management skills
Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $120,000 and $200,,000 year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
