Responsible for taking an active role managing project timelines, ensuring the successful execution of projects; communicate project needs and progress to stakeholders and facilitate technical support as needed
Supports research and fosters a culture of innovation and experimentation on new data sources and modeling techniques
Partners with the Manager to align resources, resolve technical challenges, and ensure model development stays on track
Promote understanding of ethical modeling principles and data science best practices within the team
Develops and coaches team members supporting their development and performance while fostering a culture of transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement and serves as mentor to early-career data scientists and help advance their analytical and technical skills; review junior team members' model development, analysis, and documentation
Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data science and analytics
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent combination of training, education and experience
College/university degree and 2+ years work experience; 1+ years of supervisory experience
Understanding of core data science principles and techniques, enabling effective support and mentorship for team members in project execution
Ability to oversee the production of regular reports and dashboards that visualize data science insights, ensuring alignment with business needs
Ability to assist data scientists with troubleshooting and resolving technical challenges or data discrepancies encountered in their analyses
Familiarity with data documentation and visualization tools, empowering the team in creating impactful presentations and reports that communicate findings effectively
Basic leadership abilities to guide team members in their daily tasks and responsibilities
Project management skills and skill in managing daily activities, ensuring work is completed efficiently and on time
Effective communication skills for conveying instructions and performance expectations to the team
Ability to provide constructive feedback and coaching to enhance team performance
Ability to motivate team members to achieve work goals and maintain high morale
Proficiency in addressing issues as they arise, ensuring smooth operational continuity
Desired Qualification(s)
Master's Degree in related field or equivalent combination of training, education and experience
