Develop and perform tests and evaluations of emergency management plans in accordance with state and federal regulations
Analyze and perform after action reviews and identify lessons learned for improvement to plans, training, exercises, and real emergency events; identify gaps or program barriers and make process improvement recommendations based on findings
Prepare and distribute situation reports in emergency situations in accordance with established plans
Remain up to date with federal, state, and local regulations that affect emergency plans to ensure plans adhere to necessary regulations and laws
Develop and maintain liaisons with municipalities, county departments, and similar entities to facilitate plan development, response effort coordination, and exchanges of personnel and equipment
Coordinate with Business Continuity to ensure emergency management plans are in alignment with Business Continuity Plans, Crisis Management Plans, and all governing policies and procedures; maintain emergency preparedness inventory
Coordinate with business unit POCs for preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation efforts to address the needs of the campus before, during and after an event
Serve as a member of the campus Safety Team to support the Enterprise Safety Program
Develop, manage and coordinate site specific safety programs and collaborate with external emergency services as required
Stay abreast of Safety best practices; attend training and educational programs to obtain and maintain current safety protocols
Stay abreast of Emergency Management best practices; attend workshops and other Emergency Management educational programs to obtain and maintain current emergency response data
Participate in campus leadership meetings and working groups, and provide information, advice and guidance as related to emergency response preparedness
Qualifications
Ability to remain calm under pressure to quickly adapt and respond to emergency situations as they develop
Experience in researching, interpreting, and applying regulations
Ability to assimilate and simplify complicated issues and present findings/conclusions clearly and concisely at all levels of the organization, including senior leadership
Experience in emergency management to include emergency planning, training, exercises, coordination, and implementation
Advanced research, analytical, and problem-solving skills, including exercising initiative and good judgment
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Advanced communication skills and a reserved disposition when dealing with emergencies
Advanced critical thinking skills and ability to anticipate hazards and issues that might arise during an emergency to allow for appropriate response

Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Advanced skill using PCs including word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation and project management applications
Advanced skill building effective relationships through rapport, trust, diplomacy and tact
Bachelor's Degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, or related fields
Desired Qualifications
Experience in Everbridge Mass Notification or other automated emergency notification system
Knowledge of Navy Federal products, services, policies, and procedures
Certified Emergency Manager (CEM)
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 4:30PM
