and secure technical solutions that align with Navy Federal strategies
Collaborate on architecture reviews to assess the integrity and quality of proposed technical solutions
Identify and provide recommendations for the acceptance or mitigation of any issues and risks associated with requirements, proposed solutions, designs, implementation plans and timelines
Provide forward-thinking technical expertise and thought leadership in current and emerging technologies, development practices, market trends and best practices
Anticipate and plan for internal and/or external business challenges (e.g., Regulatory, Compliance, etc.), with the ability to recommend process, product or service enhancements
Build and maintain relationships with team members, management, key stakeholders and/or external contacts (e.g., vendors, etc.)
Provide overall technical leadership to the Security, Channels and Investment initiatives, which are transformational in technology, crosses more than one line of business, and includes multiple Stakeholders within NFCU together with software vendors
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Advanced hands-on experience (15 years plus) of technical project implementations preferably including Fraud Prevention implementation(s)
Previous hands-on experience as a software developer. Proven experience in software development in modern languages (Java, C#, etc.)
Advanced hands-on experience technical experience in delivering large technical products and services in the Cloud environments
Advanced hands-on experience serving in the role of a Principal Engineer/Software Architect supporting various technical and functional domains across medium to large-scale enterprises to achieve strategic and organizational goals
Strong knowledge of security concepts (security protocols, SSO, etc.)
Advanced hands-on experience in utilizing various development and operations framework methodologies including Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and/or various flavors of Agile (SAFe, etc.)
Advanced experience in communicating technical concepts and practices effectively at all levels, including non-technical audiences, adjusting as needed to a target audience
Significant experience in translating business needs and requirements into comprehensive, useful, and clear architecture designs and artifacts
Significant experience in developing business and/or technical architecture diagrams
Significant experience in facilitating review and validation of designs by technical and non-technical audiences
Significant experience in interpreting and translating architecture designs into IT solutions to achieve specific business outcomes
Advanced verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
Desired Qualifications
Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related fields
Experience and knowledge of the Fraud Prevention domain
Certification in Microsoft Azure, AWS, Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), etc.
Working knowledge of banking and financial industry standards and practices
Working knowledge of Navy Federal functions, philosophy, operations, and organizational objectives
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 4:30PM
