    Position summary

    1. Students will work on impactful projects and meaningful work during their internship. To qualify for this position, applicants must be currently pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university and have an anticipated graduation date of December 2026 or later.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and execute designs, layouts and visual branding in both print and digital media that support products and services and objectives

    • Participate in strategic/conceptual development meetings with clients to determine project requirements, objectives and creative direction

    • Develop materials that meet/exceed their needs and expectations and comply with branding, trademark and other company and industry standards

    • Create print, video, and web graphics, photography, logos, and illustrations to support marketing initiatives

    • Conduct research, conceptualize and develop several strong, persuasive ideas demonstrating how you design to solve customer needs and that address the goals and purpose of the credit union

    • Ideate concepts, create initial design sketches, and follow art direction to produce marketing materials utilizing typography, illustration, animation, video, and layout skills

    • Monitor assigned projects to ensure that goals and objectives are completed according to schedule; collaborate with project teams to ensure all business needs are met

    • Maintain consistency of designs, ensure version controls and latest designs are published, maintains content manager and other storage systems

    • Incorporate and leverage best industry practices while maintaining alignment with Navy Federal goals and capabilities

    • Research emerging technologies, trends, and new methodologies and recommend solutions that align with business goals

    • Support print specifications, digital files, and conversion of file formats for Print OnDemand, laser forms, etc.

    Qualifications

    • Working towards a degree in graphic design or a related field

    • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

    • Ability to compile, organize and present information clearly and concisely

    • Experience in using design programs, creating and print and online collateral

    • Working knowledge of design principles, design development standards, techniques and methodologies and ability to apply them

    • Working knowledge of design fundamentals

    • Working knowledge of interactive design, visual design and industry standards

    • Working knowledge of new programs and technologies to include the latest social media trends

    • Experience creating assets for social media platforms

    • Working knowledge of video and animation production, in addition to print production

    • Experienced in telling a story through film and photography by applying typography, layout, color

    • The ability to think conceptually and visualize strategic decisions

    • Effective skill exercising initiative and using good judgment to make sound decisions

    • Effective skill exercising professionalism, composure under pressure, and flexibility

    • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback, and push designs to the next level

    • Effective verbal and written communication

    • Effective research, analytical and problem solving skills

    • Effective organizing, planning and time management skills

    • Relevant experience with mainstream design desktop publishing programs, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects, or Premiere Pro
