Review and research high profile member complaints, sensitive and confidential personnel issues; develop and provide responses
Serve as point of contact to respond to and resolve escalated concerns/issues from members, lawyers, and court officials
Identify and address compliance issues; update guidelines and procedures to minimize risk
Identify issues with subpoenas and legal attachments and discuss with the Office of General Council
Monitor work environment and direct allocation of resources to ensure adequate staffing to meet production and member service standards
Monitor key performance indicators, determine gaps in performance, and recommend changes to management
Perform quality control audits to ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, rules, regulations, and NFCU policies and procedures
Maintain thorough knowledge of and ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, rules, regulations and NFCU policies and procedures
Monitor and analyze changes to applicable federal and state laws, rules and regulations; develop action plans for implementation/dissemination, and make recommendations to management
Research potential legal issues using existing system of record; recommend and/or take appropriate action
Develop and maintain an understanding of relevant industry standards, best practices, business processes and technology used within related business areas to ensure compliance with policy, vendor contractual requirements, procedures, processes and standards
Recommend solutions to improve controls, policies, and/or procedures, and monitoring/analytical skills
Perform legal research and analysis of precedent cases, judicial decisions/opinions, and legislative developments
Prepare written legal summaries, analyses, and routine legal documents
Summarize depositions and related legal proceedings; conduct investigations and statistical/documentary research
Coordinate integration of processes, procedures and key controls across business lines
Represent NFCU in court proceedings regarding subpoenas and/or legal attachments
Develop requirements for new and/or updated legal attachment processing and/or subpoena compliance systems
Serve on teams and task groups for projects/initiatives within the business unit and/or across the organization
Perform supervisory/managerial responsibilities
o Ensure adequate/skilled staffing; select employees
o Establish performance goals and priorities
o Prepare, conduct and review performance appraisals
o Develop, mentor and counsel staff
o Provide input and/or prepare budget requirements for Annual Financial Plan (AFP)
o Ensure section/branch goals and objectives align with division/department strategy
o Ensure efficiency of operations
o Leadership Level - Supervise daily activities

Qualifications
Advanced knowledge of applicable federal and state laws, rules and regulations
Advanced knowledge of document control and document security measures
Advanced knowledge of operational and regulatory risk controls, concepts and practices
Significant experience in leading teams in business process improvement initiatives
Significant experience in managing multiple priorities independently and/or in a team environment to achieve goals
Significant experience that demonstrates the ability to research, compile, and document data, business processes, and workflow
Significant experience in working with all levels of staff, management, stakeholders, vendors
Significant experience in supervising and leading employees
Advanced skill exercising initiative and using good judgment to make sound decisions
Advanced skill in comprehending, analyzing, applying and communicating complex written legal documents
Advanced research, analytical, and problem solving skills
Advanced organizational, planning and time management skills
Advanced skill interacting with staff, management, vendors and members diplomatically and tactfully
Advanced skill building effective relationships through rapport, trust, diplomacy and tact
Advanced verbal and written communication skills
Advanced database, word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet software skills
Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Business Administration, Finance, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Desired Qualifications
Experience in overseeing a high volume legal document operation
Advanced knowledge NFCU systems, policies, procedures, practices and/or actions
Juris Doctor or Paralegal Certification
Lean Six Sigma, Scrum Product Owner and/or Scrum Master Certification
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 4:30PM
