    Position summary

    aving opportunities, and implement strategies to optimize cloud expenditure while maintaining performance and scalability.

    • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis of cloud usage, expenses, and trends. Provide insights and recommendations to enhance cost-efficiency and support decision-making.

    • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in developing and handling cloud infrastructure budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor actual performance against budgeted targets and provide regular updates to management.

    • Cloud Resource Management: Oversee the allocation, provisioning, and deprovisioning of cloud resources. Ensure resources are used effectively and efficiently.

    • Vendor Management: Collaborate with cloud service providers to negotiate contracts, optimize pricing models, and manage vendor relationships.

    • Cloud Security and Compliance: Ensure adherence to cloud security standard processes and compliance requirements. Work with the security team to implement appropriate measures and mitigate risks.

    • Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement within cloud operations and engineering. Streamline existing processes, implement automation, and develop new procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

    • Team Leadership: Provide guidance and support to the team. Foster a collaborative and successful environment. Supervise the training and development of team members.

    • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, such as Finance, IT, and Development, to align cloud strategies with organizational goals. Support multi-functional initiatives and foster effective communication.

    • Cloud Architecture and Engineering: Work closely with the engineering team to design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud infrastructure solutions.

    • Cloud Governance: Establish and enforce cloud governance policies, standards, and best practices to ensure consistent and compliant cloud usage across the organization.

    • Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with cloud technologies, industry trends, and emerging best practices. Evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies to drive innovation and improve cloud operations.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or a related field. Master's degree and/or relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or Solution Architect) preferred.

    • Proven experience in cloud operations, financial analysis, and engineering.

    • Solid understanding of cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and associated cost models.

    • Strong financial competence with the ability to analyze and optimize cloud costs.

    • Experience with cloud resource management, provisioning, and deprovisioning.

    • Knowledge of cloud security best practices and compliance requirements.

    • Proficient in cloud architecture and engineering principles.

    • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    Compensation Range:

    Pay Range - Start:

    $130,340.00

    Pay Range - End:

    $242,060.00

    Northwestern Mutual pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement in the salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. At Northwestern Mutual, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
