    Position summary

    Initiates and coordinates the response of our Emergency team for building emergencies, i.e., fire, medical, weather. During emergencies is responsible for notification of NM operations management, fire and police departments, and medical transportation.

    • Monitors CCTV cameras that are located throughout the complex, both inside and outside, to recognize problems before they become security emergencies.

    • Monitors elevator traffic screens to be able to recognize and deal with malfunctions and remedy problems with elevator power switches.

    • Responsible for calling proper contractors to service Security Control Center and operations equipment (elevators, escalators, computers, CCTV doors).

    • Monitors Honeywell, Johnson Control, and Westinghouse building automation systems. Evaluates conditions, service calls, alarms and dispatches proper personnel to remedy problem or adjust for changing conditions or events.

    • Receive messages and phone calls for facilities staff (security, engineers, and janitors) and contracted services (Honeywell, Burns, Staff Electric) which then require locating each individual sending a voice message, or dispatching the information.

    Team Leader for Security Officer Personnel (35%):

    • Assigned Team Leader for security officers on all staffs and weekends. In the absence of the Manager of Security and Automated Services, provides assistance to the security staff with problems that develop.

    • Assists in normal security policies or procedures.

    • Monitors and reviews all security officers' job tasks. Creates and updates security access procedures, policies and guidelines, which enable the staff to perform in a thorough and efficient manner.

    • Reviews logs, reports and registers checking for proper compliance with all security practices.

    • Coordinates and develops security's role in NM Emergency Response Team.

    • Evaluates the response of our security staff during emergency investigations and building drills.

    • Evaluates and recommends procedures which are required by the fire insurance carriers.

    • Responsible for the implementation of security procedures assigned by the manager of Security and Automated Control Services.

    • Assists the Manager in developing the aspects of the security officer's duties in order to ensure that they meet the changing demands of NM. These include patrol tours, alarm systems, locks, key control, doors and barriers, procedural and policy concerns, and access control.

    • Acts as liaison to other Facilities divisions. This is to ensure efficient handling of required services for security equipment and systems.

    • Conducts initial investigations of situations involving theft and unusual incident reports.

    Creating Security Manuals and Post Orders (15%):

    • Main instructor in coordinating training of security officers.

    • Develops the complete training program for handling security consoles and building patrolling. This includes recommending specific training sessions for Contracted Security Officers.

    • Evaluates the grade of service received from the contacted Security Agency and recommends changes to improve the service.

    • Designs and assembles materials for Security Training Manuals. This includes conducting review sessions with trainee after the training process has been completed.

    Maintenance of Security Records (10%):

    • Maintains attendance, vacation, and replacement records for security officers.

    • Keeps an accurate accounting of Burns replacement bookings.

    • Maintains shift schedules, attendance calendar, and post replacement sheets for security staff.

    • Maintains emergency notification records for security officers.

    Miscellaneous Duties or Fill-In Work (5%):

    • Completes special projects assisted by the Manager of Security and Automated Control Services, such as, designing computer records, access systems, placement of equipment at security consoles, and reviewing patrol systems.

    • In special situations will act as a security officer and assume the security lobby, and patrol the building complex.
