    Position summary

    • Optimize system performance by conducting tuning and capacity planning for Linux servers to ensure availability and reliability.

    • Implement security best practices, including system hardening, access controls, vulnerability remediation, and compliance enforcement.

    • Manage user accounts, permissions, and authentication mechanisms such as Kerberos, LDAP, Active Directory, and SSH key management.

    • Monitor system health, analyze logs, and troubleshoot complex issues to ensure system stability and reliability.

    • Develop and maintain shell scripts (Bash, Python, or similar) to automate routine tasks and improve operational efficiency.

    • Perform patch management and system updates to ensure security and adherence to industry standards.

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application deployments and infrastructure improvements.

    Characteristics and Qualifications:
    Required:

    • Bachelor's Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent work experience

    • Ability to produce high-quality work products with attention to detail

    • Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment

    • Experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis

    • Experience using verbal and written communications skills

    • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (MS-Word, MS-Excel and MS-PowerPoint)

    • - Experience with Security related issues as they apply to the Linux environment

    Preferred:

    • MBA degree in Business Administration
    • Experience with PJM operations, markets, and planning functions
    • Experience supporting any of PJM Committees
