The Manager coordinates work with other PJM personnel, departments and divisions as necessary including: Dispatch, Real Time Data Management, Information Technology, Markets, Planning. The Manager also coordinates with the applicable EMS vendors, member company personnel and personnel from other ISO/RTO organizations to ensure the reliable end-to-end operation and availability of critical Dispatch systems. These responsibilities include cyber security as required under NERC and FERC Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) standards, SSAE16 and internal audit support as required. The Manager must insure that NERC standards are followed and that auditable records are kept to verify compliance.
Essential Functions:**
Manage and maintain the bulk power network model in EMS and the Operator Training Simulator (OTS)
Oversee the collection of data from various sources for equipment that needs to be modeled in the EMS
Coordinate with the Manager, Real Time Data Management to ensure processes are in place to map and obtain telemetry in the SCADA model
Ensure modeling tools are available for Real Time Data Management Data Analysts to build one-line diagram displays in the EMS to accurately represent the model
Oversee the maintenance and enhancement of data modeling tools that are developed in-house
Oversee the maintenance and enhancement of the modeling application with the vendor, and coordinate vendor support with the Manager of Real Time Data Management
Coordinate model expansion and design efforts across divisions to meet performance and sizing limitations for all operations and markets systems
As the business owner for the Transmission Network and modeling Applications, assure the verification of model and software changes for TNA applications in the PCT (Process Control Test) system
Coordinate across divisions new equipment cut-in model changes required
Provide and coordinate 7x24 on-call support for the EMS TNA Applications
Work closely with peers to support the development and implementation of a strategic roadmap for the continual improvement of the tools and processes to support the EMS and model management
Coordinate response to SSAE16 audit information requests and insure compliance
Meet NERC standards requirements and participate in NERC audits to verify compliance
Lead the Model Management Department including developing long term strategies to assure success into the future with respect to people, process and technology
Characteristics and Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering or equivalent work experience
At least 5 years of work experience
2+ years of leadership experience in a managerial/supervisory role.
At least 5 years of e nergy and operational experience.
Preferred
