    Position summary

    In this role, you will combine deep technical expertise with strong leadership to define platform and infrastructure architecture, establish engineering standards, and deliver high‑impact capabilities. You will bring excellent problem‑solving, communication, and collaboration skills, along with agile ways of working, strong business insight, an inclusive leadership mindset, and a continuous learning focus.

    This role is based in our office in Newark, NJ. Our organization follows a hybrid work structure where employees can work remotely and from the office, as needed, based on demands of specific tasks or personal work preferences. This position is hybrid and requires your on-site presence on a reoccurring weekly basis at least 3 days per week.

    Here is What You Can Expect on a Typical Day

    • Define and shape the overall technical architecture for the enterprise infrastructure and AI Platform, ensuring alignment with security, performance, reliability, and operational efficiency standards

    • Translate strategic objectives into scalable, achievable engineering plans and architectural frameworks

    • Establish, govern, and evolve technical standards, design patterns, and best practices for building infrastructure and AI Platform capabilities

    • Drive the design and delivery of core platform and infrastructure services that support AI agent development, orchestration, governance, and operational management

    • Create, code, and support solutions to automate the creation, management, and lifecycle of infrastructure and platform services; remove complex technical impediments

    • Build reusable frameworks, APIs, patterns, and tooling that accelerate internal adoption and improve developer experience through self‑service capabilities

    • Apply best practices for infrastructure and platform consumption, providing easily consumable services to engineering teams

    • Collaborate with product owners to understand needs and define feature stories, and with tech leads and engineers to define technical designs and deliver robust end‑to‑end solutions

    • Ensure platform and infrastructure services are scalable, secure, compliant, and aligned with enterprise‑wide architectural principles

    • Drive platform reliability, operational maturity, cost efficiency, and resiliency through strong engineering and architectural practices

    • Embed observability, diagnostics, performance monitoring, and automation throughout the platform ecosystem

    • Engage in hands‑on design and engineering where needed to guide teams, shape technical direction, and unblock delivery

    • Lead design reviews, architecture walkthroughs, and technical assessments to ensure high‑quality outcomes

    • Mentor and develop engineers and technical leaders, fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning

    • Work on significant and complex problems where analysis of situations or data may impact future platform capabilities, products, or technologies

    • Apply infrastructure and platform fundamentals across cloud environments, Linux/Unix operating systems, networking, APIs, and distributed systems

    The Skills & Expertise You Bring

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience

    • Significant years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years in a technical leadership role

    • Expertise in distributed systems, infrastructure platforms, and large‑scale technical architecture

    • Exceptional programming experience using Python and/or nodeJS, Shell/Power scripting, or modern programming languages

    • Expertise and hands‑on expertise with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. AWS Agent Core Preferred

    • Strong understanding of infrastructure automation, DevOps, DevSecOps, and operational best practices

    • Strong experience with containerization and orchestration technologies including Docker and Kubernetes

    • Familiarity with AI/ML platforms, agentic frameworks, or LLM‑based systems. Experience with AI/ML infrastructure, GPU environments, inference‑grade cloud services, or data‑intensive platforms.

    • Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi, ARM, and Helm

    • Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, and observability tooling

    • Experience establishing technical standards, architectural patterns, and governance models

    • Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills with the ability to influence technical and non‑technical stakeholders

    • Experience working in enterprise, cloud‑native, and/or regulated environments is a plus

    • Ability to lead independently with minimal guidance while effectively leveraging diverse perspectives

    Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $171,500.00 to $257,300.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
