Core Responsibilities:
Provide 2nd line risk guidance and assistance to Actuarial, Finance, and Controllers functions in managing operational risks in accordance with the Company's ORM framework. Foster proactive risk management aimed at achieving successful business outcomes. Be viewed as a trusted advisor regarding operational risk issues by key stakeholders. This includes ensuring that operational risks are properly identified, assessed, monitored, controlled and reported.
What you'll do:
Promoting and building strong risk management culture in collaboration with the 1st line Finance & Actuarial Community (FAC) ORM team through strong engagement and relationships
Partnering closely with corporate and BU Finance, Controllers, and Actuarial teams, Internal Audit, and other key stakeholders
Providing proactive operational risk guidance and assessments to business partners with respect to core activities as well as new initiatives / transactions
Applying sound judgment and effective challenge in the evaluation of risks and controls, including communication and escalation
Engaging on challenging, sensitive, and/or urgent risk issues, including providing guidance and after-action review
Advising on the development and implementation of action plans to enhance controls
Proactively partnering with Risk Management counterparts to provide ORM expertise on risks with enterprise-wide implications and effective methods to manage those risks
Supporting risk governance including developing materials and/or presenting to senior management, risk committees, and other forums
What you'll need:
Bachelors degree required
10+ years of relevant business, risk, or control function experience
Superior relationship management skills with the ability to partner and build professional relationships in a cross-functional environment
Ability to work independently and as part of collaborative teams to deliver high quality work products
Proactive, driven professional with the ability to strategize, influence, and execute
Clear and effective written communication and presentation skills
Excellent coordination skills, including project / process management
It would be a plus if you had:
Familiarity with financial risks, including credit, market, and insurance risk
Relevant professional certifications (e.g., ASA/FSA, CPA/CFA, PMP/CSM, etc.)

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $185,100.00 to $250,500.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
