    Position summary

    team members and senior leaders to produce a software platform that will sit at the heart of the Salesforce Marketing organization. The role will be responsible for ensuring excellence in execution, facilitating inclusion and encouraging a lively work environment that prioritizes wellbeing.
    The Director, Engineering, Email Platform will lead a team of engineers.

    Responsibilities will include:

    • Ensuring that we have the right skills on the team - adjusting hiring plans, and identifying training opportunities
    • Assigning engineering work
    • Ensuring consistent working structure across the team (build, QA , release management processes)
    • Ensuring alignment to Security best practices
    • Attending sprint planning meetings and ensuring that priorities are understood
    • Establishing relationships with other leaders in the organization, sharing relevant information from your network with your team
    • Advocating for your team and making sure that achievements are recognized
    • Providing technical leadership and coaching where required
    • Cultivating the careers of the people on your team and mentoring them to achieve their full potential
    • Upholding Salesforce's commitment to employee wellness and maintaining team motivation
    • Building and maintaining a work environment that support innovation, fun and diversity

    Requirements:

    • 7+ years of full-time software engineering experience working in a team environment
    • 5+ years experience managing software engineers
    • Experience managing remote teams
    • Deep understanding of Agile development methodologies
    • Experience with software development best practices, such as code review, automated testing, continuous integration, continuous delivery, and telemetry
    • A deep appreciation for, and understanding of, analytics - this should include implementation and interpretation of metrics
    • Comfort with change, and the ability to guide your team through uncertainty
    • Empathy and teamwork-we celebrate our successes as a team and help each other to achieve that success
    • Proven ability to collaborate regularly with colleagues in both engineering and non-engineering roles
    • Good communication skills, especially in asynchronous, written forms, so you can work effectively with geographically distributed teams and people of various backgrounds
    • The ability to work in an environment where numerous simultaneous projects are the norm

    Nice to Have:

    • Experience with developing with Salesforce products, especially Marketing Cloud, Sales Cloud, Data Cloud, Pardot
    • Experience with email software development
    • Full-stack development experience
