VDS provides a noticeable impact on energy consumption reduction of electrical motors hence reducing the CO2 emissions. And it is a key equipment to make possible the electrification of many highly carbonized industrial processes.

Drives Domain is mixing a lot of different technologies and associated challenges totally in line with the Schneider Electric Strategy like:

• Power Conversion and Motor Control enabling Energy Efficiency

• Application Control or Functional Safety enabling Solutions for the customers

• Ethernet, Web Servers and DTM enabling Digitization and Services

You will love our offer if you are:

Master's degree or Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering , with a minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design

And you have...

• Proficiency in mechanical Design with Creo

• Proficiency in 3D modeling tools (Creo) in a plus

• Proficiency in finite element simulation and material strength .

• C ompetence in tolerancing, functional dimensioning, and general mechanics. (Mechanical background will have exp).

• Knowledge of plastic molding, sheet metal, metallurgy, and packaging ...

• Knowledge of insulation sheet, tools, terminals and so on .

• Good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in parallel.

• Experience in electronic integration .

• Open-minded, analytical thinking, flexibility, and the ability to act independently and take responsibility.

• Ability to work in multicultural teams with diverse nationalities.

• Ability to interact with suppliers and partners.

• Proficiency in English, French language skills are a plus.

Your main missions

• Deal with materials and components obsolescence/quality issues/adaptation/productivity subjects and qualify alternatives according to the design rules of each technology.

• Participate in business continuity in the R&D team: Analysis of new shortage requests, define the inputs needed for efficient execution, and qualify alternatives with responsiveness and rigor to avoid manufacturing stops.

• Active participation in the alternate selection on defined criteria

• Handle operational execution tasks:

• Impacts analysis including corrective action plan

• Carry out the GD3 file

• CREO simulation and 3D-2D design update including tolerances/dimensional analysis

• Performing tests plan with the specifications required for the tests selected

• Prototypes check

• Bill of material update

• Application notes release

• Support V&V team during test execution

• Ensure robustness of deliverables: impacts analysis, GD3, 2D-3D files, tests plan...

• Ensure collaboration with plants and all R&D sites
