Schneider Electric USA, Inc. seeks a Principal, MCAD-ESCAD-ETO Solutions Architect in Florham Park, NJ.
Job Description: Analyze demands and requirements of the MCAD, ESCAD and ETO Domains to design and propose cost-effective solutions for demands of these Domains. Identify system data, hardware, or software components required to meet the platforms solution needs. Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for proposed engineering solutions. Evaluate existing systems to determine effectiveness and suggest changes to meet operational and performance requirements. Collaborate with platform teams to implement the solutions required to address business needs. Analyze and propose platforms optimization for architecture, tools, platforms infrastructure, platforms process, methods, practices. Collaborate with the capabilities leader and platforms leader to define and maintain the roadmap. Create and maintain architectural documentation and solution designs, including interactions between the applications. Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in digital engineering and apply them to enhance solutions. Mentor and support junior engineers and team members in best practices. Remote eligible up to 3 dy/wk. 15% travel required (5% international, 10% domestic) to engineering and design centers, plants, and vendor sites to manage vendors, align solutions, and lead technical implementations.
Requirements: Position requires a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Mechatronics or Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 8 years of progressive, post-Bachelor's experience in Electrical CAD Solutions Architecting, or related occupation, which must include at least some experience in the following: Systems architecture and design using MCAD and ECAD tools (SEE Electrical, Creo Parametric) and a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical design principles; Design using multiple architecture Patterns (microservices, event-driven, serverless, and monolithic architectures); CAD Applications Management on SEE Suite; Business process (Engineering to Order); Designing Cloud Architecture and platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud); Using DevOps Practices, including CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure as code; Influencing decisions, guiding teams, and fostering consensus on architectural choices; and Applying security principles using knowledge of authentication, authorization, encryption, and threat modeling.
