Moreover, you will collaborate closely with various departments, including sales, engineering, and procurement, to gather the necessary information and ensure that all aspects of the project are considered. A Quotation Engineer will bridge the gap between client expectations and the company's capabilities, ensuring that projects are accurately priced and successfully executed. Their role is vital in driving business growth and maintaining customer satisfaction.
Your daily task and responsibilities
Quotation Preparation: Develop detailed and precise quotations for medium voltage equipment, factoring in technical specifications, design requirements, and material costs.
Technical and Cost Analysis: Analyze project documents (drawings, specifications, tender documents) to identify all requirements, and calculate costs related to components, labor, logistics, and contingency factors.
Selection of Equipment: Recommend appropriate types and models of equipment based on both technical compatibility and cost-effectiveness, ensuring compliance with client needs and industry standards.
Collaboration with Stakeholders: Coordinate with sales, procurement, engineering, and project management teams to gather necessary information, clarify technical issues, and ensure aligned project expectations.
Documentation: Prepare comprehensive quotation packages, including technical data sheets, calculation summaries, and supporting documentation for client review and internal use.
Risk Assessment: Identify and evaluate risks related to equipment selection, project conditions, or regulatory compliance, and incorporate mitigation measures or contingencies into the quotation.
Fluency in Dutch and English.
Technical Education: Engineering, or a related field.
Analytical Skills: Strong mathematical and engineering background.
Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with medium voltage equipment, industry standards, and the competitive landscape is a plus.
Software Proficiency: Experience with ERP/quotation platforms is a plus, MS office knowledge is a must.
Attention to Detail: Ability to ensure precise and error-free calculations and documentation.
Communication: Competence in conveying technical and commercial information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Collaboration: Teamwork skills to coordinate across different departments and roles.
Strong interpersonal skills, seeking new ways of learning for upskilling and get familiar with the Schneider Electric portfolio.
