Lead the identification, selection, and execution of process improvement projects
Lead benchmarking studies of new manufacturing technology for existing processes
Coordinate the support of manufacturing operations
Foster a culture of continuous improvement through target condition setting and identification and resolution of obstacles
Support capital budgeting decisions and prepare appropriation requests for capital equipment acquisitions
Lead capital equipment acquisition, acceptance, installation, commissioning and launch process
Conduct manufacturing capacity and constraint analysis
Document, review, and update work instructions
Verify bill of material (BOM) and drawing accuracy for new and existing products
Review, approve, and support the implementation of engineering change notices (ECNs) and engineering change orders (ECOs)
Provide technical support as required in Operations
Assign roles and responsibilities that achieve project objectives, while simultaneously fostering the technical maturity of all team members
Mentor engineers in the proper application of problem solving and process improvement tools
Lead cost studies for new products and processes
Advise product engineering on design for manufacturing opportunities
Develop time standards and establish routings for special features and products
Emphasize process standardization and process discipline

This job might be for you if:
BSME or BSIE with 5+ years manufacturing engineering experience (MBA preferred)
Lean Champion or 6-Sigma Black Belt certification highly desirable
Experience with competitive bidding and supplier selection
Familiarity with Resistance (Spot) Welding, Wire Cutting / Stamping and Mechanical Assembly processes
Ability to design special tooling, develop manufacturing processes, and assess new manufacturing technologies
Experience interfacing with product development, manufacturing operations, quality and finance functions
Highly adaptable with the ability to learn and apply new skills quickly
Possesses a strong work ethic and sets high standards for quality and quantity of work
Promotes data-driven decision making and consensus building
Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
Experience in a low volume, high mix environment
